Ordering from the US: No Hidden Fees, No Surprises

Last update: February 2026

This post is updated regularly to reflect the current situation regarding US tariffs and customs when shipping from the European Union (Germany).

US import regulations and tariffs have changed multiple times over the past months.
We understand that this creates uncertainty when ordering from outside the United States, especially regarding customs fees, delivery delays, or surprise charges after checkout.

This blog post exists to provide clear, up-to-date information and remove that uncertainty.

Current Status

We are currently shipping to the United States without interruptions.

All customs duties, tariffs, and import taxes are fully handled by us via DHL.
The price shown in our shop is the final price.
There are no additional fees on delivery no unexpected charges. Most of the time no customs paperwork is required from you (very rarely, there might be random custom inspections, as usual with international shipments, where you need to supply the invoice and payment receipt)

What you need to know upfront

  • We ship from Germany (European Union) to the United States
  • Shipping is handled via DHL
  • We prepay all US customs duties, tariffs, and import taxes
  • No action is required from the customer for customs clearance (except for ad-hoc exams, see below)
  • No additional payments are due on delivery
  • The checkout price including shipping is the final total cost

How shipping and tariffs are handled

We ship US orders using a Delivered Duties Paid (DDP) setup with DHL.

This means all import-related costs and formalities are handled by us before the shipment reaches the United States. DHL clears the shipment through customs directly on our behalf.

From the customer’s perspective, receiving the package works very similarly to a domestic shipment: the package is delivered without any additional steps or fees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay anything on delivery?

No. There are no additional charges on delivery.

Will US customs contact me?

Most of the times: NO. DHL handles customs clearance directly with us. Very rarely, there are ad-hoc examinations of random parcels, where the customer might need to provide additional documents like invoice and payment receipt

Are US tariffs included in the price?

Yes. All applicable tariffs and import taxes are already included in the checkout price.

Does it help to order with other people to save costs?

No, not really, unfortunately. While the cost of shipping isn't the highest expense, the tariffs are, and these charges escalate based on the total purchase price.

What happens if tariffs change after I place an order?

Nothing changes for you. We assume the risk of tariff changes after your order is placed.

Does this apply to all US states?

Yes. This applies to shipments to all US states.

Shipping times

Delivery times may vary depending on destination and customs processing, but most US orders arrive within 7-10 business days after dispatch.
